Interface uses Tcl/TK ("Tool Command Language")

• scripting and widget environment based on Xlib
• embeddable and extensible
• interpreted language, easy to customize
• our visualization commands implemented as extension

Graphics uses OpenGL

separate visualization C library ("gsurf") written to simplify drawing commands, e.g.:

	surf_id = GS_loadmap(mapname)
	GV_select_surf(vect_id, surf_id)
	GS_alldraw_surf()
	GV_draw_vect(vect_id)
