The erosion risk analysis based on limited, relatively low resolution data indicates:

• headwater areas are less protected against erosion than areas along the bigger streams, combined overland flow and stream modeling can help evaluate how much impact have these areas on flooding and sediment loads downstream and whether improved protection in these areas could reduce flooding, bank erosion (by reducing the amount of water getting into streams) and sediment loads
• areas with steeper slopes are better protected than areas with convergent water flow which may have higher risk of erosion due to concentrated water flow

  The analysis is based on 1993, 30m resolution data. New data from 1999 at 10m resolution should be available soon (within one year?) which will allow us to evaluate the current status with higher detail and accuracy as well as the impact of changes in land use over past 5 years
